Do I need to book in advance?

Yes, we absolutely recommend booking in advance to secure your spot, our tours are popular and fill up quickly.

However, tours can sometimes be available the same day, so please check with us, if we are free, you can tour.

What is an Early Bird talk?

A early bird talk is where we meet in a local Cafe, grab a coffee and the guide talks from a pre-determined script about a particular period and topic from form the Middle Ages.

There are several to choose from with new ones being adding annually.

A lot of research for authenticity goes into the scripts from various sources to give you, the listener, a detailed precise account.

Ideal back ground knowledge in case you want tour alone or are not physically capable to access the medieval landscape.

They each include a visit to our partner store in Tomar.

What is your cancellation policy?

Cancellations made in advance are eligible for a full refund providing the criteria under section IV. Cancellation of our terms and conditions have been met.

Where do the tours start and end?

All tours start at the Gualdim Pais statue, situated in the Praça De República (Main Square) in Tomar. Detailed instructions will be provided upon booking.

Are the tours suitable for children or seniors?

Yes, our tours are designed to be engaging for all ages. Please note that walking is required, and we recommend comfortable walking shoes.

Do you offer private or custom tours?

Absolutely! We create personalised talks and tours focusing on specific aspects of Templar history that are tailored to your group's interests.

Are your tours accessible for people with disabilities?

We strive to make our tours as accessible as possible. Please contact us in advance to discuss specific requirements.

What happens if it rains or the weather is bad?

Most of our tours run rain or shine, but in cases of severe weather, we will notify you of any changes or cancellations and offer alternatives.

It doesn’t rain very often in Portugal, but when it does, it really does.

Are your tours safe?

Yes, safety is a top priority. Our guide is trained and knowledgeable, ensuring a secure and enjoyable experience.

What payment methods do you accept?

We accept Bank Transfers utilising IBAN processed by InvoiceXpress - Certified Portuguese program nº 192 or via online Credit Card payments utilising Stripe’s secure payment platform.

If booking through Tripadvisor you will be required to use their secure payment method.

Are there any additional fees or hidden costs?

All fees are clearly stated during booking, but discounts are available for larger parties.

Vat is included at the current government rate of 23%.

Can you accommodate dietary restrictions for tours that include meals?

Yes, if you book a tour that is to include a meal, please inform us of any dietary restrictions or allergies, and we will make appropriate arrangements.

Is it usual to take the guide to lunch?

Yes most customers take the guide to lunch or dinner, although this is not compulsory.

This often gives an opportunity to discuss your favourite topics further with the guide or indeed add a much needed break when taking in a full days touring.

Do you provide transport or collection?

Yes we can provide transport utilising our company vehicle. Please contact us directly should you require this assistance.

How authentic are your Templar Knight tours?

Is gratuity expected for the Tour Guide?

Gratuity for the tour guide is not mandatory but is appreciated for providing an exceptional experience. Many travellers choose to tip the guide 10 - 25% of the tour price as a sign of their satisfaction. A good guide is to follow the rules of your home country.

All of our reviews are genuine whether good or bad, we always ask that you review our tours factually in order to present a correct perspective for others to judge.

We will provide you with a QR code whilst touring in order to assist you when making a review.

Where do the facts come from?

Are your Guides qualified?

Yes, our guide is qualified and has a diploma in the history of the Knights Templars gained with a 100% pass rate and distinction, accompanied by an additional certification from the Catholic Church.
