Templar Knights Tours Terms and Conditions 2025 

  

Introduction

This document outlines the terms and conditions for Templar Knights Tours (TKT), a subsidiary of Darren Keohane Consulting (DKC), which provides guided tours and travel-related services under Portuguese Tourism Legislation. Confirmed in the company’s book of Actas, page 23, Article 2 - Actvidades de Tourismo. (Available by written request)

Definitions

  • DKC: Refers to Darren Keohane Consulting Lda, a legally registered limited company in Portugal (VAT: PT 513444602).

  • TKT: Represents Templar Knights Tours, a company brand fully owned by DKC.

  • Client: Any individual who books, or intends to book, a tour or consultation service offered by TKT.

  • Partners: Any business entities affiliated with TKT, such as restaurants and tour venues.

By engaging in any services provided by TKT, you agree to the terms below. This agreement is a legally binding contract between you, the client, and TKT, a subsidiary of DKC

(Company Registered Number: PT 513444602).

Booking Terms

All bookings with TKT must be made via the secure payment system on our website at www.templarknightstours.com. Bookings are not usually accepted through any other method. Payment must be completed before your tour date.

Booking Requirements:

  1. Age Requirement: The person placing the booking must be 21 years of age or older.

  2. Health and Fitness: The client must not have any pre-existing medical conditions or disabilities that would prevent participation in the tour. Please refer to the health guidelines on the tour page for more details. If you or any member of your group has health conditions that could affect participation, please contact us before booking. No refunds will be issued after payment has been made.

  3. Tour-related Reservations: This includes any reservations for meals or other services associated with the tour.

  4. Risk Acknowledgment: The client acknowledges and accepts the inherent risks of participating in a guided tour.

  5. Authority: The person making the booking confirms they have the legal authority to book on behalf of all participants, who are all aware of and accept these terms and conditions.

  6. Legal Documentation: It is the responsibility of the client to ensure that all participants have valid documents to legally enter Portugal on the date(s) of the tour.

  7. Pricing: All prices are inclusive of VAT, which is added at the applicable rate (currently 23%).

Booking Modifications

Bookings can only be modified in the following circumstances:

  1. Inability to attend due to specific reasons:

    • Death of a party member

    • Flight cancellations

    • Transport strikes in Portugal

    • Medical emergencies requiring hospitalization

    • Force majeure (events beyond control)

In these cases, TKT will offer an alternative date for the tour. If the new date is unsuitable or unavailable, a credit voucher for the value of the booking (minus any non-refundable fees like tickets or processing charges) will be issued.

Any alterations not covered under these circumstances will be treated as a cancellation, and the cancellation policy will apply.

Cancellation Policy

In case you need to cancel your tour, the following rules apply:

  1. Cancellation 30 days or more before the tour: You will receive a full refund, minus any applicable handling or taxable fees.

  2. Cancellation less than 30 days before the tour: 100% of the payment will be retained by TKT.

If TKT is unable to fulfil your booking due to:

  • Death or hospitalisation of a tour guide

  • Transport strikes

  • Medical emergencies affecting the tour team

You will be fully refunded via bank transfer or in cash if you prefer.

If sites or locations included in the tour become unavailable due to force majeure (e.g., natural disasters, or war), TKT will offer an alternative tour or provide a full refund.

We strongly recommend that clients secure comprehensive travel insurance, which includes coverage for cancellation charges.

Force Majeure

TKT is not liable for any failure to meet its obligations due to events beyond its reasonable control, including but not limited to pandemics, power black outs, natural disasters, war, terrorism, strikes, or other such events. If such an event lasts longer than 30 days, either party may terminate the agreement in writing.

Photography and Media Use

By participating in our tours, clients consent to TKT using photographs and videos taken during the tour for marketing purposes. If you do not wish to be photographed, please notify us in writing prior to the tour or make your preferences known to the guide.

Data Protection and Privacy

TKT will handle your personal data in accordance with relevant data protection laws, including the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). Your data will be used exclusively to manage your tour experience.

Client Conduct and Safety

TKT reserves the right to remove any client who disrupts the tour or poses a safety risk to themselves or others. Disruptive behavior, including abuse (physical, verbal, or sexual), will result in removal from the tour with no refund.

You are expected to follow the guidance of TKT’s tour guides and any official authorities during the tour. If your health, fitness, or conduct puts the safety of yourself or others at risk, you may be excluded from the tour without a refund.

In case of illness or injury, our guides are trained to contact emergency services, but are not responsible for providing first aid.

Clients will be held financially responsible for any damage they cause to properties or sites visited during the tour, including any legal costs incurred as a result.

Liability Disclaimer

TKT is not liable for any injuries, losses, or damages that occur during the tour, except in cases where TKT or its representatives are proven to be negligent. TKT is also not responsible for delays or additional expenses caused by unforeseen events such as weather or strikes.

Travel Insurance

It is mandatory for all clients to have travel insurance while participating in a tour organised by TKT. Clients are responsible for arranging their own insurance, ensuring it covers all tour activities and any personal belongings they bring with them to the tour.

All content on the TKT website, including text, images, logos, videos, and designs, is protected by copyright and is the property of Darren Keohane Consulting Lda. Unauthorised use or distribution of any materials from the website is prohibited and will result in the appropriate legal action.
