When are tours available in 2026?
All private tours operate daily between 09:00 and 16:00 throughout 2026. Availability is subject to advance booking and, in some cases, suitable weather conditions—particularly for outdoor or river-based experiences. To ensure the best possible experience, it is recommended to book early, especially during peak travel periods such as spring, summer, and major holiday weekends.
Do tours run every day?
Yes. Tours are scheduled to run daily throughout the year, providing flexibility for visitors planning their itineraries. However, there are a small number of exceptions on specific public holidays and local closure dates, which are outlined below. Outside of these dates, tours operate as normal, seven days a week.
What dates are tours closed in 2026?
Tours do not operate on the following dates:
1 January (New Year’s Day)
1 March (Local closure – Tomar)
5 April (Easter Sunday 2026)
1 May (Labour Day)
25 December (Christmas Day)
On these dates, services are fully suspended and bookings are not available.
Attractions & Access
Are all attractions open during tours?
While tours are carefully planned to include key sites, access to certain monuments may occasionally be restricted due to ongoing restoration, conservation work, or operational limitations beyond our control. For example, the Convent of Christ in Tomar is expected to remain under renovation until approximately June 2026, which may affect access to some areas within the complex. Whenever possible, alternative viewpoints or adjusted itineraries will be provided to ensure a meaningful experience.
Are tours affected by weather?
Yes. Weather conditions can occasionally impact certain elements of the tour, particularly boat-based experiences such as visits to Almourol Castle. River levels, wind, and safety considerations may require adjustments, delays, or rescheduling. In such cases, every effort will be made to offer suitable alternatives or revised timing.

Yes. All tours are private and operate on a pre-booking basis. Advance reservations are essential to secure your preferred date and time, as availability can be limited.
